Patient Safety and Quality
At Central Carolina Hospital, our commitment to patient safety and quality care drives all we do. We aim for zero preventable harm by implementing evidence-based practices and continuously evaluating our methods to ensure every patient receives the safest, highest quality care.
Our leaders are dedicated to enhancing patient experience through frequent rounding in patient care areas. Our nurses conduct bedside shift reports to actively engage patients in their care. We believe that responding promptly to our patients' needs demonstrates our commitment to compassionate care.
In addition to improving the patient experience, CCH is working to reduce readmissions, reduce mortality rates, improve the safety of care, and improve the timeliness and effectiveness of care. All these measures are part of ratings from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) and can be viewed by the public at https://www.medicare.gov/care-compare/.
The measures from CMS are based on our performance from prior years, so they do not reflect the quality of care we are providing to our patients today. By taking steps now to improve patient safety and quality, our future scores will improve, helping us to fulfill our mission of making communities healthier.
