Central Carolina Hospital has partnered with TeleNeph to offer inpatient dialysis services and comprehensive nephrology support for inpatients.
The partnership allows CCH to continue to serve patients locally without having to transfer them to larger urban hospitals. This is especially important for patients with conditions like end-stage renal disease (ESRD) whose local rural hospital might not have an on-site nephrologist, forcing patients to drive miles to get treatment. Under the agreement, TeleNeph nephrologists will work directly with CCH nursing staff and providers in managing patients with nephrology needs.
CCH's inpatient dialysis unit provides hemodialysis to inpatients in the hospital whether they are established dialysis patients, patients requiring short term dialysis or new dialysis patients. The hospital has 4 hemodialysis units, allowing hemodialysis to be performed 24 hours a day. The dialysis unit also has 1 personal cycler that allows for peritoneal dialysis to be done at the patient's bedside. Dialysis patients in the ICU receive dialysis at the bedside.
Based in Centennial, CO, TeleNeph is a dynamic organization whose goal is to bring inpatient dialysis and 24/7 nephrology coverage to the rural healthcare market. TeleNeph’s goal is to provide healthcare to rural communities and ensure patients have the same access to care no matter where they live.
TeleNeph provides training, software and dialysis equipment for hospitals, as well as 24/7 access to a nephrologist via telehealth to ensure that ESRD patients can receive care locally.
