Laboratory Director Named For CCH
December 11, 2024
Ryan Bradford, MT(ASCP), LSSGB, has joined Central Carolina Hospital as its new Laboratory Director.
Bradford manages a laboratory staff of 17 part-time and full-time employees, and he oversaw the lab’s successful two-year reaccreditation by The Joint Commission in October.
A native of DeRidder, LA, Bradford served previously for two years as Laboratory Director for Beauregard Health System in DeRidder. Prior to that, he was Supervisory Clinical Laboratory Scientist for three years at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Johnson, LA (formerly Fort Polk). He also worked previously as Lead Hematology Technologist and Clinical Laboratory Specialist at Beauregard Health System.
Bradford received his bachelor of science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from McNeese State University in 2017. He is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and is trained as a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma process improvement.
Bradford said he is enjoying getting to know the community and the hospital.
“It’s a great little hospital,” he said. “Everyone is kind of a tight-knit family. Everyone knows everyone, and we’re all here to get along and to help our patients.”
He and his wife, Nancy, have relocated to the town of Barbecue with their three children: Emma, age 5, Ivy, age 2, and Cain, age 18 months. His wife also works at CCH, as a Radiology Technologist.
“It’s a lovely community,” Bradford said. “I come from an even smaller one, and it just seems like everyone knows everyone here. You see a good group of people that come through the hospital, so you get to know a lot of people in the community. And so far, from what we’ve gathered, everyone’s been friendly and open to help us out.”
