Felisha Eskridge, MSN, RN, MBA, MHA, has been named Director of Women’s Services at Central Carolina Hospital.
In her role, Eskridge will oversee the hospital’s Birth Center, which includes five private and spacious labor and delivery suites with amenities such as private bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs, sleeper sofas for dads, central monitoring and in-room infant care areas. The Birth Center provides management of premature labor, fetal surveillance and delivery of term infants, with a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. About 300 babies are born at Central Carolina Hospital each year.
A native of Oglethorpe, GA, Eskridge worked previously at South Fulton Medical Center in East Point, GA, where she served for five years as the Manager of Women’s Services. She later moved to San Angelo, TX, where she served as Director of Women’s and Children’s Services.
In her most recent role, she served as Interim Director of Women’s Child Services at Kern Medical in Bakersfield, CA. Her other career stops have included Atlanta, GA, Memphis, TN, Turlock, CA, Santa Rosa, CA, and Bellevue, WA. During her career, she has worked as a staff nurse at two hospitals to stay connected to her profession on the front lines, which helps her to better understand her staff’s needs and to serve as a resource for them.
Eskridge received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL, in 1988. She also has three masters degrees from the University of Saint Francis in Joliet, IL: health services administration (2005), business administration (2007) and nursing administration (2019).
She and her husband, Cosby, who works as a wellness coach at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, are relocating to the Sanford area. They have one daughter, Deborah, age 27.
