New Director of Emergency Services Named

Daniel Register, MBAHM, BSN, RN, been named Director of Emergency Services at Central Carolina Hospital effective Feb. 10.
A native of Willow Springs in Johnston County, Register had been serving previously as Director of Emergency Services and Director of the Stroke Program for Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, FL, since 2021.
Register started his career as an Emergency Department staff nurse at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He spent 10 years with WakeMed Health and Hospitals in a variety of roles, including supervisor and interim manager of adult emergency services for the Level 1 Trauma Center.
In May 2009, Register joined UNC Health Johnston, serving as Director of Emergency Services from 2009 to 2015 and Emergency Services System Director from 2015 to 2021.
Register received his Associate Degree in Nursing from Johnston Community College and his Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing from Winston Salem State University. He earned his Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University.
So far, Register has been impressed with what he sees at CCH.
“I think the hospital is a great community hospital,” he said. “I think it’s in a perfect location for the growth that’s projected for this area. I think it’s got the right people in place.
“The executive team has been very supportive so far,” Register said. “I like their vision. I think we’re right on the cusp of really making big changes here at Central Carolina Hospital, and I’m happy to be a part of that.”
Register is living in Angier to be close to his mother, while his wife, Angie, works as a Nurse Practitioner and cares for their children in Florida. Together they have four children: Lauren, 24; Carson, 20; Branson, 15; and Addison, 12.
