January 2, 2025
Central Carolina Hospital rang in 2025 with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 19.25 inches, baby Emmy was born to Dania and Jose on Jan. 1 just a little over two hours into the new year, at 2:02 am.
The delivery was performed by Holly Drake, MSN, CNM, IBCLC, Certified Nurse Midwife at Central Carolina Women’s Health Center.
“We are grateful for the doctors, nurses and staff at CCH who made this experience so special,” said Dania. “Thank you to everyone for taking such great care of us.”
More than 300 babies are born each year at Central Carolina Hospital. The hospital’s Birth Center is dedicated to providing compassionate maternity care close to home for new and expecting parents in the region.
CCH offers five private and spacious labor and delivery suites. Its birthing suites offer amenities such as private bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs, sleeper sofas for dads, central monitoring, and in-room infant care areas. The hospital’s Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides intermediate care by the hospital’s Pediatric Hospitalist group to well neonates and those who require supportive care.
“We are privileged to help our community’s families welcome their newest additions,” said Felisha Eskridge, MSN, RN, MBA, MHA, Director of Women’s Services at CCH. “Our team of clinical and support staff are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for new moms and their babies all year-round.”
