CCH Names Director of Health Information Management

Lavatrice Parker MSML, BSTM ,CSSGB, RHIA, has been named Director of Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement and Facility Privacy Officer at Central Carolina Hospital, effective Jan. 6.
Prior to joining CCH, Parker had served since 2023 as Director of Health Management Services at Senior TLC in Charlotte. Before that, she served for three years as Director of Health Information Management Services for three years at Acadia Healthcare in Charlotte, and for three years as Supervisor of Health Information Management Services at Novant Health, also in Charlotte.
From 2018 to 2021, Parker served as President of the North Carolina Health Information Management Association. For five years before that, she served as Interim Program Chair and Adjunct Instructor for Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, helping to revitalize the school’s Medical Office Administration curriculum.
Parker received her Associate of Science degree with a concentration in Health Information Technology from Central Piedmont Community College. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Management with a concentration in Health Information Management from DeVry University, and she received her Master of Science degree in Management with a concentration in Leadership from Montreat College.
Currently she is working on her PhD in Business Administration with Executive Coaching from Liberty University, which she expects to complete next year.
A native of Orangeburg, SC, Parker and her husband, Derrick, a native of Myrtle Beach, SC, have relocated to Sanford, where he works as a welding manager. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting and travel.
“I love the hometown feeling of the hospital,” Parker said of CCH. “I like the fact that even though it’s small, there’s a variety of services that we provide here, so it allows me to keep my skills sharp.”
