OB/GYN Physician Joins Central Carolina Women's Health Center

Eyra Agudu, MD, FACOG, Obstetrician/Gynecologist, has joined Central Carolina Women’s Health Center effective Thursday, Feb. 1.
Dr. Agudu worked previously at Harnett Health OB/GYN and Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Professor at the Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine and Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
She completed her residency at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio after which she served on the active staffs of Community Hospital of Springfield and Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio, where she also operated a private OB/GYN practice.
For the next sixteen and a half years, she worked at Grant Medical Center in Columbus Ohio. She served as OB/GYN Program Director for Lower Lights Christian Health Center for underserved patients in Columbus for three years. She also served five years as an OB/GYN practitioner for OhioHealth’s Wellness on Wheels mobile OB/GYN clinic, and for two years as a volunteer OB/GYN with Harding Clinic OB/GYN in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Agudu also served previously as a Clinical Instructor for Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Canton, Ohio.
Dr. Agudu received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 1989. She received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University Milton S. Hershey College of Medicine in 1994. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, in 1998. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Agudu performs major and minor OB-GYN inpatient and outpatient procedures. She enjoys family, reading, cooking and photography in her spare time.
Dr. Agudu joins the practice of Hakeem Yusuf, MD; Lakeesha Murphy-Spencer, MSN, CNM, RNC-OB; Colleen Higdon, WHNP-BC; and Holly Drake, MSN, CNM, IBCLC. She is welcoming new patients at Central Carolina Women’s Health Center, located at 1140 Carthage Street in Sanford.
