PHYSICIAN PRACTICES UNVEIL NEW IDENTITIES TO REFLECT AFFILIATION WITH CENTRAL CAROLINA HOSPITAL

New names for employed physician practices reflect connection to hospitals and continued commitment to patients  

Sanford, Broadway and Pittsboro, North Carolina (July 21, 2017) – Central Carolina Hospital today announced that the physician practices employed by the hospitals will feature names highlighting the practices’ connection to the hospitals. The change will become effective August 1.

Physicians and staff providing care in10 practices in Sanford, Broadway and Pittsboro have been employed by Central Carolina Hospital.  Renaming these physician practices strengthens the connection of the practices to the hospital, which have collectively served the region for a couple of years now.

Moving forward, all practices employed by Central Carolina Hospital will be part of Central Carolina Physician Practices.  Likewise, the names of each individual practice will change to reflect this structure.   

“Only the practice names are changing. Patients will receive the same high quality care as always, with the same physicians and staff and in the same locations,” said John Maxwell, CEO of Central Carolina Hospital “The new names reflect our commitment to provide our patients continuity and coordination of care by highlighting a clear connection between the physician practices and the hospital.  We’re pleased to share this new identity structure with our community.”

The names of the Central Carolina Physician Practices will change as follows:

  • North Carolina Community Family Medicine will be known as Central Carolina Community Family Care
  • Sandhills Family Practice will be known as Central Carolina Sandhills Family Care
  • Family Health Associates of Sanford will be known as Central Carolina Family Care
  • Central Carolina Surgical and Mid-Carolina Crossroads Surgical Clinic (combining the two offices but keeping the current locations) will be known as Central Carolina General Surgery
  • Carolina Internal Medicine will be known as Central Carolina Internal Medicine
  • Internal Medicine Associates will be known as Central Carolina Internal Medicine Associates
  • Sanford Surgical Specialties will be known as Central Carolina Urology

Other item of note:

  • Central Carolina Cardiology is our newest employed practice

The new practice names will be in effect for all locations at both primary and satellite offices where care is provided to patients throughout the region.

Central Carolina Hospital joined Duke LifePoint in January 2016 and have embarked on an awareness campaign highlighting the hospitals’ legacies in the community and the commitment to making communities healthier.

In the coming months, months you will see changes in signage and other areas reflecting the new name changes.
